Most of the class started as prestructural and did not understand what inputs, outputs, rules and variables were in a financial model spreadsheet. After a short discussion the majority of you moved to Unistructural and could define what an Input, Output, Rule or Variable was. To show your understanding all students completed a worksheet to identify the costs, revenue and formulae to create the model. To remind you of the solo outcomes I have inserted them below.
Most of the class finished the lesson at the Relational level and were confident in creating a financial model from information you had gained from the email.

From my understanding of soloandstudents so far i think it is a very good way of helping students advance through the stages of different topics.It worked for me because it explained to me how i can improve my work and extend my knowledge of the subject furthermore using the guidance this has given me . ReplyDeleteI think solo is a great tool to use in all lessons. It's good because everyone can work at their own pace and start where they think they are comfortable. It also makes learning easier, I went from Pre-Structural to Relational in less than a lesson and I understood everything. Matthew Pearson 9y1

ReplyDeleteFrom looking at this i think solo looks like a great classroom tool that can help student when they are struggling, plus if you are stuck you can get help off other students if they do understand i did move from pre-structual to relational in a lesson and i understand well. ReplyDeleteIt helps you understand where you are and it tells the teacher where you are working at or if you need any help or support. Also solo is very simple to use and it does not confuse you at all. Kevin siby 9y1
i think that the solo tool is a good way for the teacher to understand where the students are working at. its easy to use and easy to understand. i think it is better for the teacher to look on the sticky notes other than going round everyone and asking them individually what they know and understand about the topic. ReplyDeletei think that solo is a good website for both students and teachers for both to intervact with as the students can have a look and it will help you with where you are struggling with, including you can post questions what you are stuck on and then either a student or an teacher can answer your question to give you some help. including you can work at your pace andd the teachers can know what you are struggling at and if their progressing
ReplyDeleteI think Solo is a good website for the teachers and students because, it shows the teacher where everyone is with the topic and if a few people are not as far as other the teacher and get them up to date spearetly while the teacher sets the others off with a task.
ReplyDeleteI think solo is a good thing to include in learning as it is a good way of seeing how far you are in a subject and in a lesson you could set yourself a target to get to the next stage in solo. Also it is a good way for teachers to see how well you are doing in a lesson or if you need some extra help with certain things.

ReplyDeleteI think that solo is great as it helps people see what their levels are and what they need to do to improve. It also helps us to understand what we have done more and what we must do to reach our targets and how to exceed them.
ReplyDeleteSOLO and students is a great way if tracking a students progress and can help teacher and student work out the best way to move a pupil ahead. I really enjoy SOLO and think it can help a lot of students by letting teachers know who need the help most. Daniel Smith 9y1
